MAC Cosmetics will be launching a Selena collection later this year, and just released a first look at the brand’s new lip color, Selena Red.

Singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez passed away 21 years ago, but her fans remain loyal. Last year, fans of the Latina superstar began a campaign asking MAC to create the line in her honor. Here’s how Selena fans petitioned MAC.

The lipstick is in purple packaging, which is a departure from MAC’s traditional balck, and it is stamped with the star’s signature.

Selena was known as the “Queen of Tejano Music” – and her life ended tragically when she was killed by the president of her fan club.
